Hi everyone, I’m Vallerie Byrne, and I’ve always believed raising funds should be fun.

For years, I gave 180 percent not just to my work, but to everyone around me. That relentless drive, that heart-first perseverance, is what transformed my contracts into catalysts. It’s proof that when you lead with connection, kindness, and care, real growth follows.

But somewhere along the way, I realized I was building momentum for everyone else and forgetting to build a life and livelihood that felt aligned for me. So I decided to take everything I’d learned about business, events, and human connection and use it to build something new.

Small towns like ours are full of incredible people entrepreneurs, volunteers, nonprofits all working hard, but mostly alone.  We’re burnt out, spread thin, and disconnected from the joy that once made community life so rich.

The problem isn’t a lack of effort or good intentions it’s that we’ve lost the systems that make collaboration easy and FUN.

Through years of running events and rebuilding my own life, I started to see community like an ecosystem every person with a role, a niche, and a purpose.  I call it Human Permaculture designing communities the way nature designs gardens, where everything works in harmony when it’s nurtured with intention.

That idea became my blueprint, and it evolved into a business that blends professionalism, purpose, and play.

Welcome to North Okanagan Community Events (N.O.C.E.)

North Okanagan Community Events (NOCE)

A two-part platform where business strategy meets heart strategy.

Part 1

The Diamond Standard: Event Consulting & Community Connection
This side of NOCE represents my 26 years of professional experience in customer service and event management.
I help local businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities plan, promote, and execute events that drive measurable economic and social growth.
From parades and farmers markets to milestone celebrations, I bring structure, creativity, and heart delivering Diamond Standard results that make every partner shine and strengthen our local network of collaborators.

Part 2

The Community FUN-Raiser: Purpose-Driven Events & Gift Baskets

This side channels that same professional strength into joy-filled fundraising experiences $2 FUN Trails, community games, and locally curated gift baskets that support nonprofits while boosting small business revenue.

Each FUN-Raiser follows a transparent model:
 • 50 % Product & Service
 • 25 % Charity Impact Fund
 • 25 % NOCE Sustainability Fund

Together, these two halves form one complete ecosystem professional excellence meets community impact.

NOCE proves that when we combine structure with soul, everybody wins.

Over the past four and a half years, I’ve had the privilege of coordinating major City of Enderby events and managing the Enderby Farmers Market roles that many assumed were full-time City positions because of how deeply I poured myself into them.

In truth, those contracts became my classroom for what’s possible when you treat community work like a calling, not a checklist.
Through that commitment, vendor numbers tripled, partnerships multiplied, and local pride came back to life proving that consistent effort, kindness, and connection can turn any role into a ripple effect of sustainable growth.

I call it the Diamond Standard of Community Building excellence with heart, anchored in teamwork, transparency, and positive physiology.
Because when we choose collaboration over competition, our communities thrive.

Long before I ever became Enderby’s Event Coordinator, I was already dreaming up what “Vallerie and Mallory” would build , a life filled with family, fun, and purpose.

When the City role was presented to me it felt less like a job and more like a doorway. It gave me a place to live out those values in real time coordinating city-wide celebrations, bringing new life to the Farmers Market, and helping neighbours reconnect through kindness and collaboration.

Enderby became the grassroots of everything North Okanagan Community Events stands for.
Together we proved that when you mix heart with hard work, small-town effort can spark a regional movement and Enderby will always be where that spark began.

Whether you’re here as a business owner, a parent, or a dreamer this is your invitation to be part of it.

Because this isn’t just my story anymore it’s ours.

Let’s make Enderby the most connected small town in Canada one $2 act of kindness, one FUN-Raiser, one smile at a time.
